Before moving to Maui our family used to live in Park City, Utah - A beautiful mountain town known for its skis resorts, the 2002 Winter Olympics Games and the Sundance Film Fest. I am sure most of you must have heard about Park City already because (no doubt) it is one of the best ski towns on Earth!
Living in such a beautiful place allowed me to take pictures in many different weather conditions and gorgeous locations. So one of the most incredible photo shoots I have ever had, was during the 2016 Winter.
Marie was about 30 weeks pregnant and it was time to take her Maternity pictures. We scheduled our photo shoot and we chose a cute park with beautiful trees and bright white snow. However, on the day of the photo shoot Mother Nature presented us with a snow storm.
It snowed all night and morning. Our shoot was scheduled for 3pm and we didn't know if we should reschedule it or give the weather conditions a try. Although it was a gorgeous snowy day I actually tried to reschedule the shoot because I did not want to put Marie and her cute baby belly in jeopardy. We were about to cancel the shoot when the snow stopped falling down... and a beautiful blue sky became visible.
Marie was so excited to have her maternity pictures taken with a snowy landscape, so she didn't want to reschedule. We decided to do the photo shoot. However, I told her I would do everything in my power to make sure she was safe from anything that could harm her and the baby. So I dressed up for the battle against the snow! lol I was fully dressed with ski gear: pants, polls, boots, hat, gloves... this way I could walk on the snow a couple feet in front of Marie to make sure there were no deep areas or slippery ice. My camera was also covered in plastic bags so if I did fall deep in the snow, at least my equipment would survive. No matter if the session location is in snow, at the beach, in the middle of rocks or by the water, I always make sure that my clients are safe and comfortable during our photo shoot!
You will find below the results of my Snow Mama Maternity photo shoot. Gorgeous is not enough to describe how these pictures turned out . A perfect combination of a beautiful pregnant lady, a cute baby bump and an incredible location and landscape.
Was Marie cold during the session? Most likely! However, she did not show it! What a brave Mama!
And in case you are wondering, no. I did not got deeply covered in snow! lol I did step in quite a bit of snow here and there. However, remember I said I was dressed for a battle against the snow? =)
